TO ACHIEVE YOUR DREAMS YOU MAY HAVE TO INTERPRET, AND BRING INTO REALITY, THE DREAMS OF OTHERS.

You have graduated from University, earning that higher degree that you have always longed for. You did very well, graduating at the top of your class. Everyone you meet you tell them,  “I am going to do great things in my field of study, I will be climbing the ladder of success heading straight to the top because the industry needs me!”

A reality check kicks in when after sending out hundreds of resumes
you are still unemployed a year after graduation.

Before you realize it you have fallen into a pit of despondency as you realize that degree or not, work experience or not, once again you will have to start at the bottom. So you revamp your resume, you ask your friends and former classmates to put in a good word for you at their jobs, but still nothing is forthcoming. There is one particular organization that you would love to be a part of but try as you may there seems to be a closed door. So you decide to do something else other than your field of study, hoping that one day someone – your teachers, former classmates, friends, former bosses - will remember your skills and expertise and call upon you.

You get that call, finally! But it’s not for what you want, it is for something else. Something that you have never studied for but is something that you have years of experience in doing. Some of your friends are telling you to ignore it and hold out for what you really want, but this is something that you can do with your eyes closed so you decide to give it a chance. At the interview you realize that your prospective employer has a lot of ideas for his organization. He has a dream for its success but he needs help in interpreting this dream and bringing this dream into reality. Using your past working experience, you propose how you would take the company to higher heights. You advise him to expand the company, as it was too small to deal with the matters and issues at hand effectively, and you also tell him exactly what you would do to make the company more efficient. He is pleased with your proposals and decides on the spot to hire you and put you in charge of this new project, laughingly calling it The Dream. For this position you are given full reign to do what you want for the best interest of the company and you will answer only to him. You will have no supervisors because he trusts you and believes in your capability. In a matter of hours you have risen from obscurity to prominence just because you had the ability to interpret the dream of someone else.

We all have our own dreams and our own desires, but there are times when our role on this earth is to interpret, and bring into reality, the dreams of others. Think about it, maybe, just maybe, doing this will inadvertently fulfill your dream and your desire which was always to be a success.
